After an exciting Q1 and having 6 string quilts finished, it is time to line up some projects for Q2.
Plan to do 3 string quilts. I have one set of blocks ready, 2nd set almost ready, 3rd set needs 24 blocks made.
I have 3 items to carry forward from Q1.
#9 Double Pinwheel Quilt
A 16 patch table runner
A new spring tote made from batiks call Japanese Knot Purse
I also do some knitting for our Children’s Hospital and I am working on a Car Seat blanket.
I am also making a granny square doll blanket.
This makes a total of 10 items.
Well bear with me as I do a separate post for each project !
Here are my first 2 finishes for 2016. Joining this group has certainly keep me on track. Both my quilts are string quilts and the blocks are made by sewing strips onto a fabric foundation. All my string quilts are donated to cancer patients in my area. I love making these quilts and never get tired of trying to make each one a bit different. Here are pics of my finished quilts.
Well I have the first 2 items finished for our Quarter 1 Finish Along. Item 1 was my first string quilt done in green. I had most of it done and only had the binding to finish.
My second item was another string quilt and I added a border to bring up the size. See my little dog checking on what is happening behind that quilt.
I have another string quilt ready to quilt with green/yellow center strings; another top finished with black center strings ; a set of 24 blocks made, so I just need one more set of blocks to make my 6 string quilts. I think I will make it for the end of the quarter but I don’t know about my other 3 projects I listed. Oh well, it is fun and certainly is helping me get caught up on some projects for this year.
I have been without a blog for a year now so I have decided to make a new one. My old blog SamanthasHouse had some issue where I could no longer add pictures so what point was there to having one when pictures were the fun part of a blog.
I have chosen Handmades by Jeane as I have expanded my field of crafts. I still continue to quilt and have added sewn and knitted doll clothes, knitted and crocheted baby items which I will donate to the new Saskatchewan Children’s Hospital being built in Saskatoon, SK and now scheduled to open in 2018.
Be patient with me as I progress through the startup of this site, please! I am not a very fast learner of this computer stuff and if you want to drop a comment you are welcome to do so.
